Nice and attentive service, no issue here. No issue other than they forgot to ask me how to cook my steak and it came well done...this is not how I like it. Food does have a potential to be great but this is not how we received it. I had a Challenger, which is a crazy £20 big burger: chicken breast, 2 beef burgers, bacon, 5oz steak, 2 hash browns cheese and some lettuce and tomato. Chicken dry, beef burgers overdone, steak well done. What else I was missing was more garnish to make the dish not so dry. Pickles,cabbage, mustard souses whatever. Our 4yo girl had a burger and chips. Plain burger in a bun, which was OK as she wouldn't touch salad in a burger. There was nothing else tho, she like...
Despite the lackluster ambiance, the food exceeded our expectations. We ordered nachos for a starter and were pleasantly surprised by the generous portion size and delicious flavor. The mains were also outstanding and the prices were reasonable. The food here definitely leans more towards a gastro pub experience rather than standard pub fare.
I can't wait to return and try more dishes from the menu, and I hope that the atmosphere improves next time. It would be a shame to miss out on such great food due to the subpar ambiance.
I recently met up with some friends at this pub and was impressed by the extremely friendly staff who even let me charge my phone while I waited for my friends to arrive. The owners, who are a couple, have a family-oriented approach to running the pub, creating a great atmosphere that feels more like being part of an extended family than just a regular pub. I would highly recommend this place to anyone in the area looking for a relaxed venue for a social gathering or a quick catch-up. The food may be simple, but it is good.
The food is good. The decor for eating is abit odd and it's sat around a pub bar in the middle of a suburban area. You wouldn't think it would be a nice restaurant from the outside or when you go in but the food impressed us. It was decent, filling and was something for everyone! We definitely left full! It did take us a while to get our food though. But they did apologise. If you can not get distracted by the men at the pub bar watching sports then you can have a nice meal.

First time of coming here, will definitely return. Clean and pleasant surroundings, decor nice,lots of t.v screens, plenty of seating. Staff very polite ,friendly and attentive. Nice relaxing atmosphere for a meal or drink. Food portions are a decent size and very good value for money. All food was well cooked and delicious. Had a very enjoyable meal n drinks... thankyou, will return again
We have visited the Clay Pigeon for a Sunday Roast, and In our opinion it is a hidden gem on the Tile Kiln Estate. The Sunday roast is outstanding quality and quantity. We recommend that you try out the food, and support our local community pub. The service is good, and Andy and Kate are very welcoming as are the staff.
Went there for lunch and had the Tex mex burger and the other half got the ribs and we were surprised at how big the portions were. Food tasted great. Service was pleasant and friendly. Would definitely recommend to give it a try if you are in the area.
I went to the Clay Pigeon this morning for a satisfying breakfast, which was very tasty. The unlimited tea and coffee was a nice touch, as often you finish your drink before the food arrives. The service was great and the food was delicious.

Some of the best burgers we have had. Restaurant is away from the main pub so quiet enough to enjoy conversation. Good Service and good value.
Friendly service. Good food, giant portions from the main menu. Had the ribs which filled the chopping board!
