My wife and I had visited Cork previously, but only ever for a few drinks. Last evening we decided to have a bite to eat and ordered some deep fried calamari and croquettes from the tapas menu. The drinks beforehand were fine, in fact the sangria made by the young bartender was excellent. The food however, was certainly not ! The deep fried platter looked and tasted as if they 'd bought it in from Iceland : overcooked, rock hard, oily and pretty tasteless. When the young lady came to collect our barely touched plate, she was politely told how awful it was and that I had no desire to pay for it just the drinks. Some minutes later, a man who I assume was the manger/owner, came to the table and...
