The Plough Inn, Lathom

Seven of us arrived at 5:30 PM on Tuesday. We placed our orders, and although the restaurant wasn't busy, most of our meals arrived fairly quickly except for one, which I suspect was forgotten. Three of us ordered the salt and pepper chicken, priced at £16.50, which I found to be quite expensive. To say it was disappointing would be an understatement—the rice was so clumped together that we had to slice it apart. The chicken was just okay, and the chips were also average, but for £16.50, I expected much better quality. Not sure what was going on today. But apparently weekend chef had forgotten to do food order. Several choices not available,Inc Scouse as chef doesn't know how to make it! Disappointed Opted for sausage and mash. Was nice but sausages didn't taste anything special. Onto dessert. Again, some options not available. My waffle was so hard in places, after attempting to cut with a knife I gave up with some of it. Really doesn't entice me to return. Felt guilty as it was my suggestion of venue for lunch.

Came for lunch yesterday, so disappointed this used to be a great place for roasts, all soft and like warm salt and pepper chicken has completely changed, it used to be lovely! No crispy coating on chicken, so disappointed! Dessert was nice, but rest of food wasn’t, I’m guessing change of chefs etc since new management! Also no where near as busy as it used to be! Despite 5 people behind bar at one point took ages to take plates etc! I doubt we will return

My daughter dined here sunday 29th off October, her and her girlfriend where treated awful, first they lost their booking, waited 25 mins and still no menu so had to go the bar. Asked for a dessert menu 40mins later still no menu. They had to go the bar to get the bill then where charged £8 for two lemonade and sodas. Myself , my daughter and extended family will mot eat her again. I also will never recommend this place. Very rude staff Service: Dine in Réservez une table maintenant
