Very small restaurant with limited seating and parking located in an industrial building area. Our Montreal Smoked Meat sandwich which comes in four sizes was disappointing. Meat in sandwich came as a big soggy blob sopping wet. Bread around it was the thickest cut cut slices I have ever seen in a deli. Amount of bread is too excessive for sandwich. And to top it off, bread was somewhat dry as if not the freshest or had been sitting exposed for some time. Fries looked overdone and dark brown but actually still tasted well. Counter lady doubled as table server also was very friendly and pleasant.
Will never come back to this Whitmore site. We had called an order to take off, but we decided to see if we could dive instead, as our son woke up from his nap. When we asked if we could dive, they immediately said no. Doesn't that make sense? We order food and then? Shall we say it? Are you not welcome to eat your meals in your restaurant?? It wasn't even busy. There was only one party of two inside. Oh, good. You lost a customer.
Excellent. There are many good places to get Montreal smoked meat sandwiches, but not many great outside Montreal. That's one of those big ones. Huge number of excellent old school friars and pretty decent Koleslaw to top the combo plate. Lucky I found you. Not only for me and mine, but also for visitors who come to the city if this ever becomes a thing.
My colleagues and I like The Corned Beef House. They were easily able to accommodate a party of 7. We all had a variety of orders - processed very efficiently by the server. Servings were generous - although the hot mustard was not really hot. Next time maybe I'll see if they have a grainy mustard.Definitely a great go-to for a business-man's lunch!
