As for the food, it was disappointing. I ordered the Captain's Platter, which I affectionately called the "Cholesterol Platter." It included two flounder strips, four large shrimp, four scallops, and four fried oysters, accompanied by fried okra and a scoop of red rice. While the red rice was good, the rest of the meal seemed almost like a health warning—like the restaurant was trying to monitor my blood pressure!

The seacrab soup was tasty, but the rest of the boiled seafood lacked flavor and had almost no seasoning. Other diners even had to bring their own spices to enhance their meals. The staff was kind and helpful, but they didn’t offer any seasoning on the side. We noticed the two tables nearby where patrons had also brought their own spices, which was quite surprising. While the prices were a bit high, the meal was decent overall. It was hard to believe that so many other customers felt the need to bring their own seasonings—what a funny sight! I've never been to a seafood restaurant where the seafood is cooked well but lacks seasoning. The side dishes were average, but the place was clean.
We've always dined at a different location, but we enjoyed this one even more. The staff is friendly, the food is excellent, and the restaurant has a nice size, so you don’t feel crowded. Their crab balls are the best I've had in a long time—I literally go just for those! As for kid-friendliness, during our first visit, the waitress offered my infant a fruit cup, which we declined. However, on our second visit, our waiter brought one over when she started to get a bit fussy. They were also completely accommodating of my son, who is a very picky eater, letting him bring in his Zaxby’s.
This kund of seafood joint is something to look for in the south. Low key, sticky floors but their food is heaven! Steamed crab/ shrimp bucket was delicious. Crab cakes were the best we ever tried: soft, meaty, and savory. Even coleslaw was extraordinary. She crab soup was a bit too rich though... Waitress was superb: friendly, helpful, and fast. Everywhere we go in Atlantic USA, we look for a place like this for insane seafood. Crab Shack IA now our THE seafood place for Charleston.

This is my family's go-to restaurant whenever we come to visit our parents. Amazing food, amazing service I highly recommend the Crab stuffed Flounder and of course oysters
