I've been reading mixed reviews<br/ about the new Deli. <br/ <br/ I've been for Brunch and Dinner<br/ now 4 or 5 times and I've always been impressed. The staff have always<br/ been very welcoming and helpful. The Food has been really great and<br/ consistently served quickly which is a welcome change from other cafes in the<br/ area. Tried the Deli and came out very satisfiedas soon as we came in the friendly staff greeted us and let us know to sit where we'd like and order at the counter when readythey have a really lovely garden to sit in out the backwe had the haloumi and cornbread dish with poached egg, as well as a lamb and rosemary piepie was decent, I would have liked maybe more filling in it but the standout was that cornbread, could really taste the corn. outside was amazingly crispy and inside fluffy and delicious. After having successfully running the Eire Café in Clapham, owners Zoe and Stephen have taken the next step in expanding their business and have revamped The Deli, which is across the road from the Wheatsheaf Hotel in Thebarton. Adelaide Food Central was kindly invited to the launch of The Deli, where the food and drink were provided free of charge.
I ordered the fritters which were good by themselves, but they were served with a slightly spicy sauce that I did not like. All of the dishes were served with the same sauce. Why do you want everything to taste the same? The coffee was excellent as was the $2 donuts that were perfectly soft in the middle and crunchy on the outside.
What an awesome find in the back streets of Thebarton! Awesome menu, fresh food, great service and an amazing outdoor area where you’re literally sitting amongst the vines. The eggs Benedict were out of this world especially when coupled with perfectly cooked, thick sliced haloumi let alone the poached eggs to perfection!
