We took a taxi from the train station and told the driver to take us to The Dining Room. He assured us that we would enjoy the excellent food there, and he was right. We were warmly greeted by Barry and led to our table in a beautifully decorated alcove. The atmosphere was relaxed and we felt comfortable right away. We had a three-course lunch that was delicious. We both started with the chicken parfait, which was smooth and served with warm bread, the portion size was just right. I had high expectations for Sunday lunch after seeing the reviews and pictures, but I was ultimately disappointed. The starter of mushrooms was delicious, but the roast beef main course was tough and chewy. The cauliflower cheese was lacking sauce and seemed to have been sitting under a heater. My partner tried the vegan wellington which was just okay. The only thing we really enjoyed were the chips, although it was clear they were frozen. The staff were friendly, but unfortunately, the quality of the food did not match the high price. I will not be returning anytime soon.
We had a large table last weekend for my daughters birthday. Table was decorated beautifully for us (even though we hadn't requested it! , staff were inviting and friendly, food was excellent everyone commented on how good the food was and how full the plates were (empty at the end though! and it all came out on time and at the same time. Amazing! Returned tonight, just me and the wee one, service just as amazing. Ordered something different this time and was just as blown away. Absolutely perfect. Can't wait till next time! Visited with a group of friends for Christmas dinner. Food was mediocre at best. Starter of mushroom risotto was like soupy rice with stock cube and truffle flavour. Main course veg some overcooked and some under cooked. Horseradish dumpling with beef was like glutinous slime. Service was ok but any negative comments seemed to be ignored. The restaurant wasn’t busy so the kitchen staff could have done better.

Fab friendly Resturant to dine in with staff who went above and beyond! Great service and friendly staff who were more than accommodating with Birthday cake and candles they even threw in a complimentary glass of Prosecco for the birthday girl! The food was delicious and they adapted dishes for us as required. Will definitely be back very soon
Had the most amazing meal this is the 2nd time ive been food was delicious staff are lovely so attentive Kirsten was our waitress her knowledge of wines was excellent she is simply the most attentive loveliest waitress i have ever encountered. Highly recommended
Really enjoyed the atmosphere. Service and food excellent. Very high standard, far better than any back home in Elgin. Thanks to all involved in creating the perfect night out. Will return next time, when back in Kirkcaldy.
