I usually enjoy this restaurant for dining in and takeout. However, on my recent visit, I ordered the pulled chicken sandwich with fries and a side of cheese sauce. Unfortunately, the fries were cold, and there was no cheese sauce included. Additionally, the portion of chicken on the sandwich was quite small. We called ahead to place our order and left right after ordering, as we know the food typically comes out quickly. When we reached out for assistance regarding the issues, we only received a response that the sandwich meat is normally portioned. Disappointing experience this time.
Flew into town and Dixie Pig was highly recommended so I had to make a visit. There was a lot of good options to pick from and we decided to pick the mixed plates. We got brisket, pulled pork, braughworst, mac n cheese, black eyed peas collards, BBQ hash, banana pudding and peach dumplings. We thankfully got each sauce to try with the meat. I would rank thier sauces in this order . Bourbon BBQ, House BBQ, Dixie Gold, Alabama White then Memphis Magic. The banada pudding was really good and the peach dumplings was nice a version of peach cobbler.
My twin cousins celebrated their birthday party at this restaurant, and everything was delicious and felt homemade. The beef, pork, and chicken were all cooked to perfection. The mac and cheese seemed to be made from scratch with real cheese, almost reminiscent of a mac and cheese casserole. I will definitely return. The catering staff was also fantastic! This place has the best ribs in the state! The barbecue is fantastic, and the service is both quick and friendly. It’s an unassuming BBQ joint located next to a laundromat, but everything we tried was amazing. The air conditioning struggled a bit with the hot weather, but it was manageable. Food was hot. Sides we're excellent. Brisket was dry, but admittedly we were a half hour late picking up our order. They kept it hot in the Warmer. Thank you! I wish all the varieties of sauce included description, or even a simple temperature gage (mild, medium, hot, extra hot for online ordering.
