"Such a great weekend at the Lodge. We brought our 2 dogs with us which was the first time we’ve ever done that. When checking in we were given bandanas, balls and bowls for them. Such a nice thought. The room was so spacious for all of us. The dogs loved the areas for them to go potty and even saw a couple deers which they loved to bark at. Wasn’t a busy weekend there so it was nice to have the place to ourselves."

The customer service at this hotel is awful. I’ve traveled for business over the past twenty years and this is the first time I’ve felt inclined to post something about a hotel, and I’ve stayed in everything from a 5 star to a 2 star hotel. I booked their new cottage which claims to have a king size bed in one of the rooms. It does not have a king size bed. It was supposed to have a grill out back, but it did not. I explained the situation to the manager on duty as I checked out and she said that she understood that I might be upset about paying for something that was not accurately depicted on their website. We stayed here for a romantic weekend away and had an amazing time. The resort is tucked away and feels a little off the beaten path despite being a quick 15 minute walk to the beach or to local shops and restaurants. The staff were very kind and accommodating. Our room had been updated, was clean and was quite spacious. The porch was a nice feature too and it was really quiet. The continental breakfast was what you would expect except the lodge stands out because they had some real gluten free options to choose from locally made oatmeal cups, Chex cereal cups, yogurts, fruit, etc. Our favorite part was probably the fire pit. Stayed here for 4 nights w our 2 kids. Upon checking in, we were told we would get a stay over mid stay- basically room cleaned and all that. I confirmed following day and the evening before No one showed up to clean the room. Spoke w manager and was told first thing in the am. And nothing. Again spoke w manager and finally room was done as their last cleaning. Pull out bed was so springy and uncomfortable. Not enough blankets or bedding. Room was humid at all times, the pool had limited chairs Coffee in am was awful, breakfast was fair at best. Wi-Fi was spotty. It was close to town, staff was nice. For the price we paid, I wish there was more Toiletries were great
This is currently my last night here. Room was very clean and presented well. That’s the only thing good. TV with no cable, there not fixing it. The dory closed, bar closed. From what I hear it’s never open. Pool closed the first two days of stay. Over grown landscaping and exterior needs cleaning and care. Continental breakfast not good. Place has so much potential but this is what happens when owned by a big firm that’s not present.
