It's fantastic to see The Drunken Poet thriving and as popular as ever! Yes, it can get noisy and crowded, but that's part of its charm—it's all about the great atmosphere! The live music and Thursday open mic events add to the fun. The staff are excellent at taking care of everyone, the food is delicious, and they offer a wide range of drinks to suit various tastes. The friendliness of the place is remarkable; strangers often approach you to introduce themselves and strike up a conversation. If that warms your heart like it does mine, then visiting on a lively night is a must!

It is a narrow space once inside and a little on the dark side at night however has a nice area to sit out front and really friendly bar staff. Overall has a cool vibe and decent drinks options. This may be a better option for an afternoon beverage.

My favorite Irish pub for a pint of Guinness in Melbourne. While the ones in the CBD can be more lively and party-focused, this place has a quieter atmosphere. It features live music and unique events like poetry nights. It’s a lovely spot.

Fantastic venue. The Drunken Poet is ‘a must’ on our annual footy trip to Melbourne from Adelaide. The owner is brilliant and always remembers us. We always feel so welcome. Great friendly atmosphere music. Thanks we’ll be back next year Réservez une table maintenant

Finally ventured in after driving past many times and it didn't disappoint. Great music, vibe and atmosphere. Will definitely head back for a drink. Didn't have anything to eat but the toasted sandwiches smelt great

I absolutely love the Poet! It's truly a refreshing spot amidst all the glitz. The pints are exceptional, the whiskey selection is outstanding, and the art is fantastic. It feels great to be back home here.

Not much more to add, go! This little Irish pub is worth all the hype. Try and time your visit when live music is on. Easy to combine a Queen Vic Markets visit and a drop-in pint of Guinness. Réservez une table maintenant
