One point to mention was the sound system - we used Bluetooth for music and found that the sound was louder in the bar area. It would be helpful for the venue to review their sound system/speakers for consistency throughout the space. Unfortunately, there were a couple of negatives from our experience. I would recommend that anyone booking the venue arranges to meet with the manager in person beforehand to confirm all details. We followed the manager's instructions to arrive at lunchtime on Saturday but were unable to set up as the room was already booked, causing inconvenience as we had traveled 8 miles and paid for parking. Went there last year in August. Ordered a 175ml glass of wine and a pint of Peroni. It came to £15. Couldn't believe it! The glass of wine cost an eye watering £9.50. It was just a regular Malbec. The pint of lager cost £5.50. Wow! When questioning this was told it was the lorry drivers fault, lack if supplies etc. Went there a couple of weeks later after recovering from the shock and ordered a coffee but no shortbread of biscuits available. Again, it was the lorry drivers fault.. not been back since.

I had my 40th Birthday Party in the cellar bar here a couple of weeks ago. Everything was perfect at the venue. Elena Bar Manager) was very helpful from to point enquiry to the actual day of party. Fantastic communication and felt at ease for the day of the party. I took the option of arrival Prosecco , shots for the toast and grazing boards for food all went down very well with my guests. I would definitely book here again for more celebrations in the future

Came specifically for birthday drinks this evening but I come to the Exchange all the time, not just because it's my local but because it's one of the nicest bars in Leicester! 9 times out of 10, my friends and I choose the Exchange for drinks. Staff are lovely, loads of drinks to choose from, really great atmosphere.

Tamzin provided excellent service with a smile every time I approached the bar. I enjoyed chatting with her and appreciated the great service, which made for a delightful evening out. I frequented the bar often and she always made me feel welcome.

Very badly managed lying bar manager and assistant store manager, you hire this place and they make excuses to shut your party down early as they only have one member of staff running an event for 80 people. Joke of a place and dirty basement

Always wanted to visit as such a stunning historic building and our visit didn’t disappoint. Fine selection of drinks and a great ambience having first watched a matinee show at The Curve. Will certainly return

50th Birthday celebrations for my husband manager Elena her staff were really friendly, helpful and accommodating. The Garden Room was a great little room for a party. We’ll be back!

We loved the wide variety of ales and the great customer service at this restaurant. We will definitely be back next time we are in Leicester.
