A beautiful looking pub from the outside and the bar area was nicely furnished. We got our drinks at the bar and navigated our way outside to find a table in the sunshine (no lights on down the long, dark, corridor which was a bit eery). It’s a lovely, big garden but not overly child friendly. There is what looks to of once been a tiki type bar that’s now boarded up but the entrance was still open to go in where I could see a green petrol can and saw within easy reach which is a bit off putting/worrying with kids around. Chairs a bit rusty (but comfy enough with a cushion), picnic benches wobbly and a lot of bird poop (I know it’s outside but these didn’t look as though they’d cleaned in a w...
This restaurant has the potential to be a top spot with its great location, but it needs some new energy to thrive. Without some changes, it may unfortunately end up closing, which would be a shame. With the right menu and a little more enthusiasm, this place could easily be a 5-star gem in Rutland. Until then, I would suggest holding off on visiting to save yourself from potential disappointment.
My husband and I spent the night at this restaurant last night and it was a treat! The rooms are beautifully decorated, and we even had a bath inside our room which was a nice touch. The bar area has a charming atmosphere and the food was delicious. We tried some of the Greek dishes on the menu and loved them. We will definitely be coming back. Thank you to the owner for being so welcoming.
Our anniversary lunch experience was extremely disappointing. The atmosphere was lackluster, the food was average and expensive. The portion sizes were laughable, with a salad priced at £16.50 being more like a child-sized side salad. We felt completely ripped off and the service matched the negative reviews we had heard.
