My partner and I are regular visitors to the wonderful pub!! We have never felt the need to leave a review, though after our lunchtime visit today, we both wanted to put down on record what a gem this is in the Oxfordshire countryside. Staff are always engaging, the chef is so very personal, always coming to your table to discuss menu choices. Today, we both started with the cheese and haddock soufflé, which were spectacular, followed by a beautifully cooked duck breast and ribeye steak, both were wonderful. This pub cannot be recommended high enough, when looking for an eatery I would say look no further than the Fox at Boars Hill!!
We visited briefly in Feb after a dog walk and the amazing bread had stuck in our minds since then, so we thought we'd stop again for a spontaneous Saturday dinner. We hadn't booked but were immediately welcomed. Drinks were prompt. Dietary requirements were checked with the kitchen and amended for myself. Food was superb, drinks were great and the whole team were friendly and looked after us. We have already recommended to our family that they go. A really good quality pub feel with brilliant food. Serve bombardier on tap, that's a great start! And the Sicilian lemonade and elderflower drink was very refreshing too. Nice greeting and smelt beautiful upon entry. Hand dryer in gents toilet was noisy and ineffective, but that's the only complaint really. The halloumi chips were amazing, there were 5 but I forgot to photo first Main course was wonderful too. Highly recommended. This is a must visit on the Oxfordshire area for foodies or people who like a good feed. Well done
Fantastic evening at the Fox. We’ve recently moved to the area and wanted to try out local places. It was one of the warmest, friendliest pubs we’ve been to for a long time. Staff and customers were so welcoming and accommodating of us, dog and baby and food and drinks were excellent. Couldn’t fault it. Thank you, it’s so important to have great places for locals to go like the fox, we’ll definitely be back!

I came here 2 years ago, incredible location, ambiente, environment etc. but eating was disappointing. not this time, an excellent menu, I loved it. friendly profi and on my list back. I understand that a local person takes this place. as far as you're doing great, and you've got my whole back. visit people it is worth it.
Amazing lunch and such good pricing for the wonderful quality of the food served. Our waiter was lovely and very quickly rectified a mistake and even reduced the bill without being asked. We were visiting family and after such a brilliant experience we are going back next week. The atmosphere in the pub was lovely as well.
had a wonderful experience with me and my family went on Sunday the frying was fantastic, the black was perfectly boiled, it was honest to one of the best frying dinners that we have ever eaten very cheap and the atmosphere and the decor was very welcoming. cant recommend enough 5 stars.
Food was excellent but menu heavy on pork ! Had a superb duck liver pate but menu restricted for me because of pork elements so took the smoked haddock gratin which was well cooked but for me almost inedible because it was so heavy on...

We love this pub, it is family friendly with an excellent menu and a wide selection of drinks. I follow a gluten free diet and they were extremely accommodating. This pub is hugely improved under the new landlord a real treat!
I have been for dinner tonight and decided to try the lemon sole on the specials . I can honestly say it was one of the best sole dishes I have tasted it was absolutely delicious well done !
