The George? Yes, it is a beautiful building! It has undergone some renovations, and dining here is a delightful experience. They also have a fun garden that creates a fun atmosphere. Children will love it! It's a safe place for them to enjoy well-cooked food while you grab a beer. You can relax knowing it's a family-friendly environment. Overall, our weekend visit was wonderful, thanks to the friendly staff.
I visited this pub for a 30th birthday party and had a fantastic experience. The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming. The beer garden was a lovely size, perfect for when children were running around. Plus, the smoking area in the back was dry and heated, which was a nice touch.
Just had a fab Mothers Day here. Accomodated a noisy table of 12 for us. Fab service. Great homecooked Sunday lunch. Even the yorkshire puds were mum made. New Management making it a real welcoming traditional family run pub!!! Lovely atmosphere n friendly locals. Good pub!

The George is closed and has become a thing of the past. However, there’s a lovely bar nearby called The Woolen Pig. They offer a wide variety of drinks, as well as delicious cakes and sandwiches.
Nice friendly staff with pool table and bouncy castle for the kids which they love. Would get 5 stars but the building is a bit tired, not that interferes with your drinking.

"Excellent meal on a last minute reservation. Pizza's really are good and the place has a great atmosphere. I just wish they'd fork out for a RSJ and make the side section open into the rest of the main back of the restaurant."
