This isn't our local but we have been here on several occasions in the past and always had a good experience but yesterday our visit was a bit of a let down. The food we ordered was nice but the waitress who served us had a bad attitude and was quite frankly rude. She had a foreign accent and struggled understanding what we were asking her for and giving her our order was fairly hard but not her fault as english obviously wasn't her first language however after about 5 attempts of my husband trying to calmly and slowly repeat our food order she started tutting and was becoming angry and looked at him like he was an inconvenience. Then there seemed to be a problem with the credit card machine and it wouldn't work so she shoved it towards another girl behind the bar and told her to sort it out then proceeded to walk away from us before she'd even taken our payment, leaving the other girl to finish the transaction for her. All in all not a great time had but hopefully just a one off bad experience.
Decided to go for a quiet Friday night drink with my partner to the George and we were delighted to be told it was live music night. There weren’t too many people which was a shame as the singer was excellent and worthy of a much bigger audience. As always the lady behind the bar gave us top notch service even though she appeared to be the only one working and trying to serve multiple people at once. She was very polite and calm and super quick at taking our order: would highly recommend the steak. Desserts are a bit on the poor side however, they could do with adding more options to the menu and paying more attention to detail on the presentation but still happy with what we ordered.
