Our family ate here last night and the food was ah mazing! The food was so good we forgot to take pictures first whomp whomp). I ordered the mussels which is actually listed as an appetizer, however, it is certainly an entree portion! Maybe 16 or so mussels in an amazing butter/garlic/wine sauce to be soaked up with some crusty bread! YUM!! We also had lamb chops. I 'll have to admit, I hesitated to order lamb chops at a seafood restaurant, but MAN! was it divine! Perhaps one of best lamb chop meals I 've ever eaten. The portion size again, was great. Fantastic dining experience! My family and I came here while we were on vacation to the area. The atmosphere of the interior was relaxing, calm, and low key. The exterior was fun the view of the river and riverwalk was very cool to see while sitting outside. It was nice because they also had fans outside to keep it extra cool. The food was fantastic I got crab cakes and my wife got shrimp scampi. The service was also great and they had plenty of child high chairs in case you bring your kids along like us! 10/10 recommend! We called ahead to ask about walk in service. We spoke to a lady who told us as long as we arrive within 15 minutes we would be ok and we don't need to make a reservation. We get to the restaurant and was greeted by two of the most disrespectful hostesses. They were short and unpleasant. Told us that we should of made a reservation. We relayed what the woman said to us over the phone and they were basically very dismissive after that. I never had a chance to experience the food and I never will. I will forever let people know about this experience
Called a day ahead and was told they do not do reservations on the weekend. We planned accordingly and showed up ready to wait a bit. The hostess informed us they do not do a waitlist either but we could come back in about 30 minutes to “see if there was a table” but there would be no guarantee. If a table opened up and someone came by before us it would be theirs. We went next door to Floriana and joined the waitlist, shortly had a table and had a wonderful evening. Drove to Wilmington from Holden Beach. We needed a change from Myrtle for an evening out. So happy that we came across The George! The Riverwalk is so charming and the restaurant sits right on the boardwalk. We had incredible service from our waitstaff. Unfortunately, I forget her name, but we had a pleasant and unhurried meal. Everyone's meals, were superb. I'd recommend the Scallops with Risotto!
