However, there's a significant issue with staffing. On Thursday nights, the crowd is large, and it’s evident that there aren’t enough staff members to handle it. While I can’t comment on other nights, Thursday is definitely bustling. It's quite rare to have a waiter come to our table; most of the time, we have to flag someone down to place our orders. Although it seems the staffing has improved somewhat over the last few months, the service remains slow. I believe this place is becoming more popular on Thursdays, but they really need to address the staffing situation to enhance the experience for their guests. I hesitate to give it a full five stars because there’s still work to be done. Ov...

I visited this restaurant a couple of years ago to celebrate my son's graduation from Infantry Officer School, and it was quite disappointing. There were no tablecloths, my reservation was not acknowledged, and the atmosphere was loud with rap music playing. To make matters worse, there were people behind us drinking buckets of beer. I even took the time to write a letter to the new owner, who surprisingly called me back. We had a conversation where I shared my thoughts, and he thanked me for my feedback. However, it seems the new direction he's taken with G&L is not to my taste. It's unfortunate to see a once-great place diminished like this, and from what I can gather in recent reviews, it...

I highly recommend this place! Joy was one of the most friendly and helpful bartenders I have ever met. Even though I wasn’t a regular—traveling for a new job and away from my husband and son for the first time in years—she treated me like I belonged. I discovered this unique restaurant and lounge through a Google search. Although they didn’t have the fish and grits I read about in a review, Joy suggested I try the catfish instead and graciously swapped the fries for coleslaw at my request. It was fantastic! I quickly felt at ease dining alone, enjoyed a wonderful meal, and had some great conversations. I can't wait to come back in a few months. This will definitely be my go-to spot in the f...

My wife and I had a delightful experience at The Globe and Laurel. This restaurant has a truly unique atmosphere that sets it apart. As a Marine, I appreciated the extensive Marine Corps decor that is showcased throughout the venue. The owner is very hands-on and dedicated to ensuring exceptional service; he addresses any issues that arise, no matter how big or small. The waitstaff is friendly and attentive, making the dining experience even more enjoyable. I wholeheartedly recommend this spot to anyone looking for a nice, laid-back place to enjoy a meal. P.S. If you're a Marine or know one who lives nearby or is visiting, you should definitely make this restaurant a must-visit! Réservez une table maintenant

We recently organized a dinner for a group of 30 at the restaurant, and everyone had an excellent experience, largely thanks to the warm and welcoming staff. Although they were a bit short-staffed, they ensured our group was well taken care of, providing delicious food and a delightful atmosphere. Among the attendees were a World War II veteran, several Vietnam veterans along with their families, a Navy Corpsman, and a couple of Basic School Lieutenants. It was the perfect venue for such a gathering! We wholeheartedly recommend giving The Globe and Laurel a try. My husband and I are already planning to return for lunch this week, as the food was truly enjoyable!

This has quickly become my new favorite spot! The atmosphere is lovely, family-friendly, and steeped in a rich military history. Although the menu isn't extensive, everything they serve is delicious. I even met the chef today, who prepared an amazing dish of chicken and waffles where the chicken was cooked right inside the waffle, along with some additional chicken on the side. I tried the fried fish and grits, and I've never experienced grits with such a Cajun twist—absolutely delicious! I've been back three times this week! The manager, Wayne Kelly, is also very personable and kind.

We waited an hour for our appetizers to arrive, and during that time, we had to get our own water and serve ourselves. It took an hour and a half after we were seated for the server to finally come over and ask if we wanted to order anything. We were the only large table in the restaurant, yet another big group left because of the poor service. When we went to the bar, we witnessed two bartenders arguing, both of them unwilling to work since they were off duty. We will definitely not return for food or drinks here again; it was the worst service we've ever experienced.

The menu was also noticeably different from what was featured online. The bar appeared to be out of many items, even water, which I had to ask for multiple times before finally getting it myself from the bar. After only finishing three-quarters of our drinks, we decided to leave rather than risk ordering food. I regret not checking the reviews beforehand; it's telling that the owner or manager called a patron a “hateful individual,” which speaks volumes about the overall attitude of the establishment. Beyond the food, this place serves as a museum dedicated to Quantico, the USMC, and state law enforcement from around the country. The decor features vintage USMC artifacts and law enforcement badges. This restaurant is a must-visit at least once!
