After a lengthy wait for our rather ordinary meals, two members of our party decided to order the Eton Mess. When it arrived, we were surprised at how small the portions were, especially considering they cost £6.25 each. However, the biggest disappointment for me was that, instead of being cold as it should be, it was actually quite hot in some parts. It was essentially defrosted frozen fruit topped with whipped cream that melted away immediately. There weren’t any meringue pieces to be found! What a disappointing effort! I mentioned my concerns when we paid the bill, but all I received was a vague assurance that my feedback would be passed along.
Brilliant food and a lovely environment. The way they have decorated for Christmas is elegant and lovely. Kid-friendliness: Our daughter (5) was made to feel welcome and there was no problem with us exploring the whole pub to find all the Christmas decs.
