when we entered the chalk store after a 12-hour shift, we were greeted not with a friendly face, but a passive aggressive server. all other employees were great, including the baristas and the beautiful waitress. the older server that took our order was very rude and condesctive. she even said, as I quote, “they keep their minds that we don’t have all day” as I buy about what food. she also took the assumption that my male friend would pay for me, which made the situation unpleasant. to finish everything, she asked if she could spray my two croissants into the same box. not only would it squish, but one was an breakfast croissant and the other was dessert. all in all not happy and never come...
Just had Sunday brunch in this gorgeous and delicious place. I asked for a veggie option of their bagle on the menue and it was just delicious. I might could do it without to tomato sauce underneath the top bagle half but again it was...perfect. I recommend to make a booking. I was lucky wondering in early and get a table from one of the friendly staff. Can’t wait to go back and try more from the menu or just for a pastry. Absolute great start of my Sunday.
Had a very good duck confit dish with mushrooms risotto (very well done) and then something sweet, apricot croissant and soy milk chai latte.Everything went very fine, the staff is nice and gently, food and beverages are high quality. The place is clean, with lovely European style design, just felt like I was back in my hometown which is Milan!
The Grain Store has such a fabulous atmosphere. The restaurant is modern, clean and appealing. I ordered almond cap and falafel and everything about it was delicious. The pea falafel was actually one of the best I’ve eaten. The staff were excellent- we hadn’t made...a booking and yet they accommodated us so generously.

This place was just around the corner from where we're staying so we thought we would try it. Very busy when we arrived but service was spot on and the food turned out to be absolutely fantastic. I would recommend and will defiantly come back again for breakfast. Definitely recommend the smoked salmon and eggs.
Went up and down streets to find this based on the Trip Adviser rating, wasn’t worth the effort. Breakfast Menu was unappealing to me, but was able to order off menu, saved me from leaving without eating. If you don’t like coffee not the store...for you, extremely strong coffee smell on entry.
I read about the reviews here and was not disappointed with our brunch. Amazing coffee and fresh pastries. Top class service, amazing food and beautiful venue. Could not fault in any way. 5 stars all the way. Loved the breakfast tasting plate.
came here to breakfast often back in 2018 and was excellent! return august 2022 and it was as good as at the time helpful staff and excellent eating and service. highly recommended.
