Finally had the chance to stumble on in to The Greeks in Kearny, NJ today for what some people consider the best Jersey Meat/Egg/Cheese in the state!! I don’t care to argue over the name of it. Call it pork roll, call it Taylor ham, call it your aunt sally…I say Jersey Meat to avoid the argument. This may or may not be the best one I’ve had, but it’s absolutely in the conversation. 7 slices of controversy with two eggs and plenty of cheese on a delicious NJ fresh Kaiser roll. This sandwich is exactly $10 and this establishment is cash only. I am perfectly okay paying $10 for this with that much protein going on. The Greeks Didn’t Suck!
If you enjoy classic diners with plenty of character, this is the perfect spot for you. I appreciate the rapport between the staff and the regular customers; you can easily recognize the familiar faces! It feels like you're sitting in a friend's kitchen surrounded by family. The food is consistently delicious, and the overall experience is great. This has become my favorite place to dine. The coffee is always on point, and the ambiance is fantastic. Don't miss out on the Greek fries—they're absolutely phenomenal!
As a long time Kearny native, the Greeks is a staple to our community. From seeing other people from town, the long time crew that works there, every experience is unique and wonderful. The staff there is great, always making great food from soups, to sandwiches, breakfast; you name it, it tastes great. I have been coming by for so long that they don't even take my order anymore. It's a great place to try.
Unfortunately this restaurant was sold and then unceremoniously closed in the middle of lunch time by the new owner. She called the police and had her hard working staff and paying customers removed while she laughed and made fun of everyone. Apparently she felt the Greeks was competition for her small bakery around the corner. As of Friday July 12 the Greeks was closed.

Down to earth place with good food and friendly vibe. You can tell there are regulars, which is a good sign of a great place, but you don't ever feel like an outsider. Food was good, as was the service friendly.
A Kearny classic, this restaurant consistently offers top-notch quality and a welcoming atmosphere. And let's not forget the Sweet Home New Jersey Sandwich – it's the best you'll find anywhere!
A staple for a good bacon egg and cheese. Great way to start the morning. Staff is always very friendly.
I visited for breakfast and enjoyed the food. It's a lovely neighborhood restaurant.
