Well this was a rare find… last year when we first went to York. So upon our return trip this year during the Easter Monday week we decided to try here again for our evening meals. Absolutely fantastic place! Now it can be busy on a Wednesday after 5pm (due to the free bottle of wine with purchase of two steak meals) but was well worth it for the meals alone. When ordering they ask you for any allergies. There is a QR Code you can scan and search their website and whatever your allergy, once selected it removes all meals from the menu that have that allergy. Most efficient. Popped into this pub after many hours walking in York. Decided to have the Sunday roast beef and so glad we did. Without a doubt the best roast beef and Yorkshire pudding I think I’ve ever had. Absolutely delicious! Washed down with fabulous real ales. Great service and atmosphere also.
We arrive at this pub, no one welcomes us. We sit down, the waiters pass in front of us several times without taking any orders. After 10 minutes of waiting with nothing, we had to leave. I don't recommend.
We loved it here we didn't have any food but the drinks, staff were great will definitely be coming back very soon to try the food.
