I visited for the first time and was quite surprised by the overall presentation. One end of the pizza had a burnt crust, and the garlic bread was completely charred, with a crust that was almost rock hard—it looked almost artificial. The pizza itself was comparable to chain restaurants but had better toppings, the dough was slightly airier, and it wasn't as greasy. It reminded me of Pizza Hut during its best days. I felt a bit disappointed, especially since I spent around $38, and both the appetizer and part of the pizza were overcooked. However, if you're looking for large portions, this is the place to go; the pizza was definitely big.
The place is great and we were pleasantly surprised with the experience. There is a beer shop connected with the restaurant. The beer selection is vast and diverse. The food is great and the service is decent. The outside seating area is wonderful. The parking area is very, very small so you may need to park on the street within a residential neighborhood.
I wasn't sure what to expect when we arrived, but once inside, we discovered a variety of options and combinations we had never encountered before. The cashew-based cheese and vegan mozzarella were a hit with my kids! It was fantastic to have alternatives beyond the usual Daiya and Follow Your Heart cheeses.
While I adore a classic cheese pizza, I always enjoy exploring unique flavors and toppings! We tried the vegan pizza topped with pickles, and it offered a surprisingly delightful taste that I genuinely loved. The outdoor seating area was fantastic, and the staff was incredibly friendly.

they have some of the best vegan pizza in richmond. they use local unmoo vegan cheese that is perfect for pizza and they have a soyrizo crumb that is bombed. go here if they're looking for pizza. they can also buy a 6 pack and drink it there in the grunde happy hour prizes at any time.
This place has the best, most convincing vegan pizza I’ve ever had (I’ve had a lot of vegan pizza). Make sure to get the UnMoo cheese and the soy chorizo. The waitstaff was also super friendly! The pizza isn’t the cheapest, but it’s a large quantity and super filling—100% worth it.
They have some of the best vegan pizza in Richmond. They use local UnMoo vegan cheese that is perfect for pizza and they have a soyrizo crumble that’s bomb. Go here if you’re craving pizza. Plus you can buy a 6 pack and drink it there so basically happy hour prices anytime.
The base of the food at The Hop is really good. I consider it a nice local-only alternative to The Mellow Mushroom (with a smaller but higher-quality beer selection). But all they have for protein is soy chorizo. I love that, but I want more variety.
