We decided to try here after not having visited in over 4 years. We booked the table online which was quick and easy and when we got there were greeted straight away and taken to our table. We had to wait a while to order our drinks and again another while to order our food as there was a big party in which was explained to us. When the food arrived though it was well prepared presented and delicious with one of out party saying it was the best Fish and Chips he'd had in a very long time. Well worth a visit (the hanging kebabs which we didn't order looked amazing when they were taken out to other customers, maybe next time)
Was v much looking forward to a couples lunch before the children finished school for the summer. We walked with two dogs and sat outside. We have always had excellent service; so friendly and attentive. Waited for menus or to be greeted with a drinks order but nothing! Gave up and ordered inside. Very slow service but goid excellent. No one took any furthur drinks orders nor asked us about the food. No water for our dogs. Other people waited for ages outside also being ignored. Won't return, wish I'd spent £55 elsewhere. Service was most definitely without a smile
The service here is impeccable! I'm usually known as the awkward one, as I'm coeliac and vegetarian, but here I felt it was really inclusive! I was spoilt for choice! The in house chef made my food from scratch! Gf pastry even! The portions were super generous, and they even came round with extra roasties! Nothing was too much trouble, great knowledge of allergies and I felt like I was in safe hands. Absolute 10/10. I'd give it more stars if I could. The Hourglass hosted my 65th Birthday dinner with close friends and family, the service, food and atmosphere was absolutely perfect and our hosts Jim Karen and there team were absolutely amazing and went well above and Beyond to ensure we all had a FAB time, and without exception all 20 of my guests were of the same view, I would be happy to recommend them and the venue to anyone......Once again thankyou Team Hourglass

Very expensive drink prices paid over £5 for a coke for my daughter, that was before the beer and wine price. . Nice place but the view and the place doesn't justify those prices. I even asked the young girl serving if that was correct. I've been a local there for years but that's a bit too much. There are similar experiences in devizes that offer a better experience for your wallet. Service: 2 Atmosphere: 2
Drove in from Swindon to meet a friend. Stopped at the entrance to be told “sorry we are closed for a wedding” I asked why there was no message on website, Response was “oh there should be” wasted my time and they couldn’t care less. Safe to say we will not be returning.
Always great to go for dinner at the HG. Food is splendid and they stock the red wine we like. The staff are always fantastic. Great choice, but remember to book first, being near the canal means it gets busy during the summer evenings
