This place is so cute and mostly fun. We sat at the soda bar and were told we couldn't order ice cream there.... okay, but we wanted sodas and ice cream, too... but whatever. So we go to order our affogato and root beer float at the ice cream counter... and we weren't sure how/where to pay, so we order our Mr.Pepper too and paid for it all... then we sat at the soda bar, and the soda jerk made everything for us anyway. Why was it so confusing? Why couldn't we just order it at the soda bar? (As if they aren't parts of the same establishment. It would have been nice if the soda jerk was at least a little bit friendly. I hate sitting at a bar feeling like I'm not welcome there. The Mr.Pepper so...
The ice cream flavors at this restaurant are good, but not necessarily better than other similar-priced shops. The texture of the ice cream is very soft, more like soft serve than traditional ice cream or gelato. I would recommend avoiding the fudge brownie as it was overly soft with no structure. I did not try the sorbet, but heard it was icy like other generic sorbets. However, the butter pecan flavor, which is vegan and made with coconut cream, has a strong flavor despite its soft texture. Overall, the service at this restaurant is excellent.
I absolutely adore The Ice Cream Bar. The location in Cole Valley is perfect for this hidden gem. I love the fact that despite serving alcoholic ice cream, people of all ages, including families, can enjoy themselves here. Although they have a small bar area, we all opted for non-alcoholic drinks. The affogato I had, with butterscotch ice cream and pre-mixed espresso, was a hit. My sister tried the vanilla affogato and she really enjoyed it.
This restaurant is a fantastic spot to visit at any time during the day. I absolutely adore the ambiance and I particularly enjoyed my visit here in the late evening. I sampled three different flavors and they were all incredibly tasty! My favorites were the fudge brownie (which might just be the best), mint chip, and carrot cake.

excellent quality ice cream. excellent service. a great experience. Flavours are pretty direct forward what I love. the place is very clean with a fantastic retro look/look. can not wait to come to try different aromes. the banana pudding eis was lovely. the milk chocolate ice cream was amazing. recommend the ice cream bar
I am never disappointed by the ice cream bar. Every flavor has been fantastic, even ones I was unsure about at first, especially when paired with their homemade waffle cone. Additionally, the alcoholic options are also delicious. This place is a hidden gem in the neighborhood.
Love the old school vibes of this ice cream shop. Also love that the bananas are toasted with a crunchy sugary layering when you order a banana split. Flavors feel a bit more icey and has less strong of a flavor as other creameries.
The nicecream bar is fantastic - everything is almost perfect, from the sunflowers to the ice, the adult soda, and the best grilled cheese in San Francisco. My family absolutely adores this place!

The mixologists at this restaurant create amazing fountain drinks by combining seltzer and syrups. It's a fun place with great ice and delicious drinks. We will definitely be returning.
Very delicious, great service and neat atmosphere. Line when I was there, but went fairly fast.
