I’ve always heard good things about this place but it’s a little ways out for me to get to. Today I wanted some jerk pork and saw they delivered via Uber Eats. After waiting approx 90 minutes and paying $92. The food arrived and it turned out to be such a disappointment. The jerk pork was super salty, It was difficult to consume it. The rice and peas (without any pea, not even one) was hard (rice grains was stiff) and didn’t even have any sauce or gravy to accompany it. The best thing was the plantains. The mac and cheese, hmm never seen Caribbean mac and cheese done in this style before. Sad to say the Jerk Pit ain’t for me. In response to the owners reply: Evidently there is a known issue...
I really enjoy The Jerk Pit. It's my favorite spot for Jamaican food in the area. I've been there several times and have tried a variety of dishes. Generally, the food is excellent, but there have been a couple of occasions where it didn't quite meet my expectations. I've never received bad food, but it can be spicier than I anticipated at times. I'm a big fan of the curry tofu callaloo, and the Brown Stew Snapper was fantastic. I will definitely keep going back, and I highly recommend you give it a try!
Visiting MD and tried this restaurant. Food was great 5 out of 5 stars I ordered the 2 meat plate (curry goat and oxtail with rice peas and cabbage). The service 1 star… lady that takes the order wasn’t friendly poor attitude, she seemed miserable as if she didn’t want to be at work. She didn’t greet nor spoke the entire time. Don’t think she should be working the front where customer service is vital for the experience of customers.
Got take away. Food is ok for being in US. The woman cashing was petty grumpy/annoyed with life though. It’s like I was in kfc with that attitude. Took 40 mins for my order to be ready and ppl who ordered after me got their food before which was very annoying. Got jerk pork, which was a bit over cooked/dry and oxtail w/ peas and rice w/ plantains which was pretty good.

I received a notification that my food was ready but upon arrival I had to wait for another 30 minutes long story short it wasn’t worth it the mac cheese tasted like box mac cheese baked with real cheese on top the curry had no pepper as requested, I ordered curry assumed it came with rice. overall the food was nasty and salty.
My high school friend and I sat outside on the patio. Brown Stew Snapper, Rice and Peas, Veggies and Plantains was excellent. Ordered Curry Shrimp and Rice and Peas and Jerk Pork and Hardo Bread to take home. Enjoyed it all. Music was excellent. Atmosphere conducive to hanging out. Loved it. Will definitely be back.
I've ordered from the Jerk Pit several times, and I find their food to be absolutely delicious. I tend to stick with the same items, but the Jerk Pork and Jerk Chicken are fantastic—just the right amount of spice. The portions are also quite generous. I highly recommend giving them a try!
This place has me hooked on their jerk chicken that's actually marinated for some days, then broiled on an outside grill . My other favorite is their jerk salmon to die for. Nice little cozy spot in the cut off the main road. If you don't pay attention you could miss your turn

The only downside was the 40-minute wait, but given the crowd, the food was served hot and fresh. Overall, it was well worth the wait!
Great food and music. For the second time, my friends here for lunch. Will be back. Nice staff
