I found myself stranded in Aurora a few weeks ago, and decided to go to The Keg Aurora for dinner. The restaurant was packed, but my party of three was immediately escorted to a table. We were seated in a booth in the back corner of the restaurant. Unfortunately, it was deathly cold, and we tried to get a server’s attention to ask to move tables. We waited for a good ten minutes before moving ourselves. Our second table was much better, though I was surprised that the staff were nowhere to be found during this whole ordeal. Our waiter for our meal was incredibly friendly and talkative, and made the experience much more enjoyable. It was a good thing he was so friendly, because it partly made up for the limp, and tasteless caesar salad that I ordered as my appetizer. I wasn’t too disappointed by it though, because after all, The Keg is known for their meats, not their salads. My main made up for the salad and then some. I ordered a 12oz Baseball Sirloin steak. This incredibly lean and thick slab of meat was cooked and seasoned to perfection. The steak was accompanied by french fries and some vegetables, both of which were fine. One other complaint that I have was the lack of warm water in the bathrooms. I was surprised that a restaurant in a first-world country would not have warm water in their bathrooms. All things considered, if one finds themselves stranded in Aurora, The Keg is not a bad option for dinner. I give the restaurant one star (fair) out of three. The Keg Aurora in a nutshell: Fast, friendly service, with high quality meats and good portion sizes, though the salads were not at the same level as the meat. The bathrooms need some upgrades (mostly just hot water).
