So my friends I arrived around midday for brunch. We had to wait for a waiter to greet us which was absolutely fine. We requested a table outside for 3 customers. There were 2 tables for 2 customers each available next to each other, but we’re told there was no space outside no reserved indications on either table) The waiter said there wasn’t a table outside for 3 of us, but said we could sit inside. He gave us no eye contact no consideration for the fact we had heavy suitcases with us. We were told to sit inside. We did this were handed menus. Underwhelming visit to this small place for breakfast. We both ate the vegetarian option after receiving a less than warm welcome (we both commented that we should have just left at that point). When I asked for oat milk, the cow's milk was taken from me and thrown unceremoniously into the sink behind her with a blank look on her face. I felt as if I'd insulted her and again, felt as if I should leave. Despite this, we both ate and the food looked and tasted nice enough however, around half an hour later we both had upset stomachs. Not a great start to our day in Brighton and we won't return as there are many other choices in the area.
Had read a lot of hype about here but was a little underwhelmed. This was a busy Saturday so had to wait a while to be served, with our drinks taking longer than I would expect. I ordered a sandwich and it was fine, but it was just fine and a little dry. I perhaps ordered the wrong thing (it was the very meaty chorizo sandwich) because I have heard lots of good things but, personally, I was disappointed and have had better lunches elsewhere for less.
What a lovely café! We have visited a few times now for breakfast/brunch, and this place never disappoints. The breakfasts are fantastic, with much of the produce being locally-sourced or homemade! Staff are always super friendly, chatty and attentive and take good care of their customers. Will be sure to visit again soon! Thank you to the café team

My mum and I went for brunch at North Laine Cafe last weekend. We sat outside in the sunshine, I had the heuvos rancheros and mum had the half breakfast. Both were very tasty and reasonably priced. The staff were friendly and helpful.
We went for breakfast. The food was delicious and the portions were very generous. There was a good vegetarian option. The ingredients are sourced locally. It was dog friendly
Great food and great service, I had a Brighton Blush, halloumi wrap and sweet potato fries! Lush! Great place to eat lunch, sat outside in the sunshine!
Five of us came here for breakfast. All of us had different options, I went for the North African option. All were very good and we highly recommend.
