The Lime Crab has the reputation of being the best place to get fish and chips and as vegetarians we were excited to see that they had halloumi on the menu. The ladies running the front of house where doing a sterling job keeping on top of the orders as it was super busy. I was watching something that looked like crispy battered halloumi being packed up for other customers. When our order was being packed up… I realised that what I had been watching wasn’t the halloumi and I was pretty disappointed that the halloumi isn’t actually battered at all it’s just deep fried what a crying shame! The halloumi was nice (chips pretty soggy and disappointing though) but OMG please consider battering it!...
We had done a boat trip and decided to get a fish and chips lunch. I ordered two children's fish bites it was 13.00 for the two . The quality and size of the fish bites were brilliant. I had the fish and chips it was 11.50 included in this you get a wedge of lemon and a pot of a good quality tarter sauce. The fish was a really good size and a large portion of chips came with it . Everything was cooked fresh you get given a buzzer and this goes off when the food is ready . They offer you salt and vinegar to add yourself which I think is a nice touch . The staff were friendly and we didn't have to wait too long for our orders to be prepared.
Excellent quality fish and chips. Extremely clean operation. Staff very friendly and knowledgeable in allergen control and halal options. Only slight negative was having to eat the food in Extremely hot and sunny conditions as the seating is very limited.
Quality fish and chips. Fish has a light tasty batter with good quality fish. Chips were lovely and fluffy with a crispy outside. Comes in a tray with tarter sauce and lemon. The best we tried in New quay.

The restaurant offers delicious food with gluten-free options available for most dishes. The staff is incredibly helpful and friendly. The portions are generous and everything tastes amazing.

Bought two portions cod and chips one with mushy peas. Not impressed with cod small thin pieces, poor batter and after taste of oil. Chips ok.
Best cod, chips tartare sauce, with a big fresh wedge of lemon. The mushy peas were nice too, but the curry sauce was absolutely delicious.

Had heard so much about this place that I’d became sceptical….. turned out to probably have been the best cod and chips I’d had in years!
