A mixed experience. The roast lamb I ordered was delicious, but my friend's trout was just good. Unfortunately, the other meals were lukewarm and the gravy was watery. Disappointingly, there were no Yorkshire Puddings for the roasts. The side of cauliflower was tasty but small and pricey. The service was slow but polite, and they did accommodate our request for a larger table. The Prime red South African wine was unpleasant, but the white wines were fantastic. In conclusion, it was a mixed bag.
Booked a table for dinner weeks in advance, turned up with my group and told that the kitchen was a disaster and that food might take 2-3 hours to arrive. At least they were honest and staff were really friendly. We had to queue for 25 mins for drinks at one stage as only two people on the main bar taking various orders. They let us get takeaways in so we had fun and the drinks were good too, but it wasn't quite the evening we'd expected.
My boyfriend and I we had the most enjoyable roast lunch I personally have had in Brighton... the meal, the service by a professional young lady called Clementine was without a doubt bit surprising with a real smile, the ambience was cool and relaxing. Thankyou Clementine. Without a doubt we will be back. Gracias tesoro.
Intially seated us at a tiny table (there were 4 of us! more suited for 2. Moved us when we objected but then made us wait for over an hour for food. When it arrived, it was luke warm and flavourless. Also, no yorkshire puddings, but we were not told this at the start. Not impressed. Réservez une table maintenant
Nice atmosphere. Very popular with the locals. Every table book d for Sunday roast. You do need to book in advance on Sundays. We had the lamb and the beef. Lamb super, beef was okay. I thought the portions were a bit on the stingy side, 3 small potatoes,
Great service from the staff. Even said you won’t leave here hungry. Small menu but the food was lovely. Quirky pub, but hey this is Brighton. You can reserve a table, but we were early evening and plenty of tables available.
We really enjoyed our experience at this pub. The food was delicious, although it did take a bit longer than expected to be served. It seems to be a popular spot for locals, and we especially liked the rooftop area.
The friendly bar staff even allowed us to watch rugby league on TV. We ordered a few pizzas to share and some chips; the food was delicious and reasonably priced. We would definitely come back. Réservez une table maintenant
Such a fun pub. I had the most delicious fried chicken and waffles with pickles. Lots of different floors, dining rooms, seating areas and a hidden roof-terrace.
