This restaurant is on the pricier side. The salmon salad was disappointing, with just a few thin slices of salmon and mostly filled with green leaves. I left feeling unsatisfied after spending $15. To my dismay, I saw the chef preparing food with bare hands, handling crumbs and putting them on rolls without wearing gloves. Despite the lack of mask requirement in Maine, watching someone handle food with dirty fingers was off-putting. The same person also handled payments. When I raised my concerns, the chef was dismissive and rude, claiming he didn't have time to discuss it. I was appalled not only by the high prices, small portions, and lack of cleanliness, but also by the chef's unprofessio...

The salmon salad portion had only a few thin pieces of salmon and was mostly filled with green leaves in a small box, leaving me feeling hungry even after spending $15. To make matters worse, I observed the chef preparing food with bare hands, handling crab meat without gloves, and then touching my food without any regard for hygiene. When I raised my concerns to the chef, he became rude and dismissive, refusing to address the issue. I do not recommend this place due to the high prices, small portions, and lack of proper infection control measures. I have even reported my experience to the appropriate authorities.
This restaurant is a fantastic spot to enjoy some tasty lobster rolls. We found everything we ordered to be delicious and reasonably priced. The staff at Lobster Shack are friendly and welcoming. I would highly recommend this place. They are following Covid protocols well, although it can get a bit crowded due to the small size of the restaurant and its popularity.
Second favorite lobster roll in Maine (other contenders being Eventide, Bite Into Maine, Highroller, Sprague's in that order). Ask for this lobster roll HOT, and they will deliver. The bread doesn't hold up in terms of stability, but still is nice with the hot lobster. This comes with pickled green beans, curry coleslaw, and some chips as well. Réservez une table maintenant
The crab on the Caesar salad was delicious and came in a generous portion. My companion had the clam chowder soup, which was also delicious with lots of clams, and the house salad, which was unique and delicious with pickled green beans, sliced red peppers, and a unique dressing that we couldn't identify but loved.
