We booked almost 2 weeks in advance and had requested a table on the rooftop bar. I was only informed the day before of our selected date that the rooftop was unavailable. A credit card is required to hold a booking which is $10...per person. I regretfully went ahead with the booking. Once we arrived, we were shown to our table. The inside of the pub looked so dingy and the tables were sticky. The ambience was just non existent. We went to the bar to grab some menu's there were 6 of us, I grabbed a few and was counting them. Then a lady said quite sternly They're one time use only like i was 6 years old. I said Yes, I know, I'm taking them to my table The menu we had only listed the food and...

My daughter in law booked catering here for her 40th for 40 people on the 7th December and it was a disaster. The food did not start to arrive until 7 when it should have started at 5.30. All the other drop in patrons were...being served and the prices they paid were reasonable. The prices my daughter in law paid in advance for the catering were outrageous, the promised quantities of food did not arrive and in particular the cheese board they provided at a cost of $240 was nothing more than a blatant rip off. Had we just arrived and ordered food from the menu we would have received appropriate quantities at prices less than half of what she was charged. All of this overshadowed the fact that...

The Local Tap House is a dreamland for beer-lovers and certainly one of Sydney's best-kept secrets. Situated at the junction of Flinders Street and South Dowling Street in Darlinghurst, the art-Deco building features a beautiful 1920s interior and a rooftop open--air garden (not during winter though! <br/ <br/ While most typical bars and hotels offer a range of common beers and cocktails, the Local Taphouse allows you to rediscover your tastebuds with an eclectic mix of crafts beer from 20 unique and rotating taps which they brewed from their backyard. What comes out from the tap were rich, gourmet beers which were absolutely mind bogging. <br/ <br/ I had my Mango Ale a couple of months ago....

Booked to come here for our first night out after lockdown. Paid for our meal and drinks in advance to accommodate restaurant. Our bartender/waitress was rude to us for our entire meal, would not get us drinks, our food was cold and her attitude was shocking...and made the whole experience a very bad one. The host was lovely however but I recommend having staff that actually have people skills and like their job. I understand it was a large group but we were just out to enjoy ourselves and she went out of her way to make us feel uncomfortable and not welcome. I would never advise for anyone to go here purely for the service alone that we got. Réservez une table maintenant

Popped in for a pub lunch. Won't be rushing back. Menu was pretty good, nice selection. I had a Chicken Bap (Surry Hills for burger). First problem was the minuscule wine list. $40 for a bottle of heartburn. My bap was tasteless, it read beautifully...on the menu though. Basically it was a grilled chicken breast on a fresh bap with nothing to give it flavour. The aioli etc promised was not there, there was a hint of green from an avo. Nice chips though. For the same money I could have had much better and will next time.

I can't mistake the bar staff here in the ground floor or the dachband, as they are friendly, quirky and always happy. came here for the sunday roast and was disappointed by the kartoffels who were very strong and undercooked. the yorkshire pudding was pale and not very tasty. bark brisket was ok, brokkoli and carrots were yam. many steep old slightly unlevelled stairs be so cautious. will be back for a drink, but unfortunately not to eat.

has a lot of potential, but my group has disappointed. at least 1.5 hours waiting for eating when we eat the only people in a round. my partner got a steak sandwich that I felt embarrassing to serve everyone! the steak was as thin as speck. the rest of the meal was very average. go to a beer, not to a meal!

Spent an afternoon on the rooftop with work colleagues. Food was your average pub fare burgers, steak and schnitzel. Nice without being anything special. They have an interesting selection of beers and we tried quite a few. The girl behind the bar downstairs was...helpful and friendly. Réservez une table maintenant

Interesting beer, terrible food. The day I went the Air Con was ineffective and the ceiling fans were broken so the comfort factor was low in the main bar. Moved upstairs and it smelled like a sewer. Won't rush back.
