The Lone Star Cafe

Just been for a meal while on holiday here. Fabulous! We've never tried a Texmex restaurant before. Hubby had steak tacos, son had buttermilk chicken tacos, and I had steak strips, tiger prawns with salad and mini wedges. Very generous portions, and delicious. The three meals and two pints came to less than £60, which I thought was reasonable. The service was good. The restaurant is on a first floor, with a few stairs to climb. I think it could be a problem for the less able bodied. They do a takeaway option, but it isn't an extensive menu that I can see.

The Lone Star was excellent! Great atmosphere, very attentive staff, tasty food with generous portions and lovely cocktails. Would highly recommend as the staff and restaurant itself couldn't have been any better! They seem to get busy, so best to book if possible, or go a little earlier to avoid missing out! Social distancing rules were followed with a sanitiser station, toilets reduced to one person in at a time and use of the track and trace app.

Thank you for squeezing us in on one of the busiest weekends (carnival day). Staff were very welcoming after no doubt a tiring day and after deliberating over such a varied menu, food was chosen and really was outstanding. Good choice of drinks complimented the meal including craft beers and cocktails, we hope to visit again soon. Can't recommend highly enough. Book in now!

This has been my favourite restaurant for absolutely years. I haven't lived in Buxton for the last 8 years but still regularly return just to eat here. Quality food, good prices and enormous portions. Quite simply the best place to eat in Buxton by a million miles Réservez une table maintenant

genuinely smoked ribs with smokey taste. expected to fall softer and more of the bone (as cooked for 12 hours) but still very nice. portion very large and hardly finished. steak tacos very tasty. steak strip not overcooked (medium rare) , as should be.

great place. without a booking arrived and attached between the sitting. we had divided posters and nachos, which we all had great portions, so we only needed (4 of us) as a limited time. very friendly staff and a great cocktail (old fashion.)

100% Probably the best burrito I’ve ever eaten! Lone Star was a recommendation from a local whilst we have been visiting Buxton. Can say I am pleased we stopped by. Thank you for the greet service

huge portions of excellent eating! ribs on the starter menu were amazing, but meant that we fought to finish the main course. not that is negatiw. lively buzz at the place. Réservez une table maintenant

One of the best burgers I've ever had and the customer service was amazing too. Attentive, friendly and caring. I would definitely recommend
