A group of 6 of us visited the Lost Cajun on a busy Sunday night with a packed house. Many of us hadn’t been before, including myself. The restaurant was short staffed (maybe 3-4 people total working there) and they were up front about it. Regardless, they all went above and beyond, with a smile, to make our experience great. All of the food was fresh, hot, and accurate to our orders. The apps came out at the same time as the meals but we really didn’t mind considering what they had to work with. Kudos to this team for keeping a challenging situation so positive. We will definitely be back. The inside of the restaurant was decorated really cute and very clean, felt like being in a restaurant in Louisiana. There were only two employees working but they were nice and service was really quick. When you're seated, you get a sampler of 6 different items to try before ordering. Food was cooked quick and really fresh. A lot of the food was fried but it wasn't oily and the oil seemed fresh not like old oil at all. The fried catfish was some of the best fried fish I've had, so flavorful and cooked perfectly. Cajun fries were perfectly seasoned and so crispy. Disappointing...we were excited to try a new place but must have caught it on an off day. My son ordered a sampler plate but we were told 20 mins after ordering that they were out of oyster (the whole reason he wanted that dish). We had already been waiting so long, we agreed to just have extra shrimp and fish but neither of those were that great and the plate still cost us $15. I asked for lettuce for my sandwich and got a small sample cup of browning iceberg. They had to-go containers sitting out in the main dining area and I inferred that there were there for guests to grab as needed but the waitress jumped all over us when we took one. The gator bites were excessively salty, which was off-putting. When our main dishes arrived, I was shocked by the portion sizes. I received just three pieces of fish, a few small oysters, two or three hush puppies, and three shrimp. For the price we paid, I was very dissatisfied with the portions. I understand that prices have gone up due to inflation, but I felt that this meal did not justify the cost of $65.65. We could have gone to Mayflower for a much fuller experience. This place is really authentic and fun. The music and environment really draw you in and make you feel like you're in the bayou. The boudin balls are by far my favorite appetizer.My kids are picky and they scream for this place. The fried catfish and tenders are their favorite. The also have kids night from 5-8pm on Tuesdays. Kids eat free with adult entree with balloon animals and fun.I'd really recommend this place if you like cajun and fun.
Well the waitress was nice. The food 3 years ago pre-pandemic was amazing!! We went keto so we didn't go for years. We went last week and OMG we will never go back. My jambalaya was broth with 3 pieces of ocra. My wife's catfish was fried breading and about 1/2 ounce of catfish. Enough said. It's a different world now.
I really enjoyed the atmosphere and decor of the restaurant! We were given a chef's sample that allowed us to try six different dishes. I chose the Lobster Bisque, and it was absolutely delicious! We also ordered fried okra as an appetizer. The service was quick, and the food was fantastic!
Server was attentive and courteous. It was only one cook and our food came out timely. I got the shrimp and grits and they were hot and flavorful! Quite a strange experience. Ordered a shrimp Po boy, which I thought would be hard to mess up, but it ended up being small, dry and lacking shrimp. Bread was not tasty as well. Also got a flight of sampler foods. Jambalaya, red beans and rice, other foods. They were not good.
