The Maidstone - Réserver une table

So, I've been coming here for over ten years and to be honest ten years ago this place would have gotten flat out Five Stars! And we visited no less than once a week. This place was our go to and we miss it for what it was. Somewhere along the line they messed up the formula. First and foremost with the staff. In the beginning they had the best and most consistent staff in the Hampton's. They knew you when you walked in and knew what you wanted a how you wanted it. Now, the staff is never the same, they barely know the menu themselves much less know what I might like. The menu is a mess. In the beginning it was distinctly Scandinavian. The meatballs were a staple among other favorites. Now, most of the dishes that gave the place its brand are gone and now the menu is as random as chili and tacos. No seriously, chili and tacos are on the menu....like a dive bar might have. My advice is this give it a try but keep your expectations low. It's clear they are trying to get back to that place but they keep missing the mark but who knows maybe they will accidentally get it right some day even a broken clock, amiwrong?

If I could give zero stars I would. The service was very unfortunate and disappointing. Our waitor hushed us a number of times when we had questions, was very demanding of us as patrons and all around plain rude. Who knew asking for water was such a production? What we thought would be a cozy, homey, comfortable experience on a rainy day in the off-season turned into an uncomfortable, slightly stressful and regrettable experience. At one point, we literally felt bad ordering anything with the fear of an eye roll which should never be the case at a restaurant. We will not be returning and do not recommend this place to anyone. And to close it out, the bathroom was -30 degrees. Icing on the cake.

Great restaurant in East Hampton. Wonderful dishes. The Maidstone is a great place for a wedding or private party in the hamptons. I love the oyster and lobster here. They also have a great hangover burger for brunch. I highly recommend the Maidstone for lunch or dinner. Great for large groups.

This restaurant has a charming atmosphere. Sadly, the quality of the food being served is not up to the level of other local restaurants in East Hampton. The menu is somewhat limiting and the chicken we ordered had a rubbery texture signaling that the quality was bad or perhaps it was old.

Wonderful restaurant and so pleased they are open again this season. The service is terrific. The menu is new and the food was delicious. The dining room is charming and you can actually carry on a conversation. Loved it and will be back.
