The Middle House

First visit to the Middle House, having been recommended it earlier in the day, after a reservation at another venue was cancelled. We were seated in the restaurant area and served very quickly. Pleasure to read a menu and struggle to choose what to have,...due to the excellent range of choices. My partner decided to gk for the Camembert to start and the Pie for main, whereas I went for Cod Taco’s and the Goan curry. All food fantastically presented and well cooked, a truly fantastic meal. Only slight (and I emphasise slight as had a great meal) was it took a long time to clear plates after finishing, but was very busy so can be forgiven. Also seated by a window which had an uncomfortable draft, but nothing too bad. We will be back.

My two previous visits were fine and my reviews reflected my delight and pleasure. Sadly today's visit proved disappointing. Although the service was excellent, the food on this occasion was tasteless and bland. Clearly the microwave had been in full use and the starter...of King prawns plus dip the most tasteless and bland g I've ever experienced. The beefburger was lukewarm and my brother's venison also bland and heated to extinction in a microwave. So disappointed as this was a birthday treat and an experience I wouldn't wish to repeat.

Just got home and had to leave a review straight away, this place is amazing and the staff were great. The meal was the best i have had for a long time and we eat out a lot. Thank you and can’t wait to go...back.

Birthday Dinner for of us. Superb service, great food and lots of atmosphere. The Middle House just seem to be consistently good. Congratulations!

Our waitress Holly was so good, really made the atmosphere better and the food is Would definitely recommend and we will be coming back!
