Just had a very pleasant lunch here, two couples, on entering the pub bar, there were a few people and a nice real fire, it was an extremely cold day, we were told to find any table, we moved to the larger restaurant area, which was very cold no fire and not even the radiator on. We asked the waitress if she could turn the radiator on, she said yes of course, but I could move two tables together in the bar which was so much warmer. At this point a very kind lady seated on her own, at a table for 4, offered her table to us, which was very kind. We settled in the corner by the fire, chose from the menu and were delighted to be offered a special, fish and chips and a drink for £15 quite amazing these days. The meal came and was very well cooked and delicious haddock. I have to comment on the waitress who was very obliging with everything, we even asked for the music volume to be turned down slightly as we were then sitting under it ! she did it without question. The meal was amazing value, staff lovely and friendly, we did have a second drink, which have to say was expensive by most pub standards ! but they have to run a business. If the forecast is cold, maybe they should light the fire in the restaurant area, as would make it much more warm and inviting. We will definitely return. Lovely attentive staff, choose a warm day and maybe just stick to your drink with the offer.

I popped in after fishing the local River Wye for some dinner and a couple of pints. A nice pub run by nice people. I had Fish and Chips which was good although the batter could have been a bit crisper and a couple of pints of Butty Bach which is a wonderful pint of beer. Finished it off with a Jameson Whiskey

We arrived at the pub and received a very friendly reception and given a choice of seating. We all ordered from the Christmas menu and I must say it was delicious and very filling. The desserts were lovely and tasty. Highly recommend this Christmas menu.

Really fun Christmas meal lovely food, nice beer and good service. The staff were friendly and attentive whilst being very busy with a full pub. Good selection of food vegetarians and carnivores all fed well with a proper Christmas meal.
