I wasn't sure if I would be able to make a reservation during half term, but to my surprise, the restaurant was not too busy. The staff were wonderful, very friendly, attentive, and engaging. The locals were also great, sharing local knowledge and stories. The restaurant itself is beautifully decorated with a small outdoor seating area. As for the food, I couldn't resist trying the wood-fired pizza since it was hard to miss the oven as soon as I walked in. The staff suggested I could take any leftovers home, as they also offer takeaway orders for their pizzas. And let me tell you, the pizza was absolutely fantastic! I've had my fair share of pizzas, but this one was definitely one of the bes...
We have been going to the New Inn at Tholthorpe for many years. The food is always excellent and in our view the best in our area, so we are really lucky to have it close by. We are closer to the Centre of York but the New Inn is our favourite. There is a good choice on the menu for everyone including great pizzas cooked in a real log fired pizza oven and the pricing is good and the staff are always really friendly. The pub itself is very welcoming, relaxing, clean and nicely presented. Cameron and Dionne who own the pub are great hosts and chefs.
This pub might be in a little village but the staff and locals are all really friendly. And best of all they are dog friendly. The food is worth visiting for especially the pizza, eat in or take away are authentic and delicious. Good choice of wine and great Guinness. Service: 5 Location: 5

Came for a meal here on Saturday, had the fishcakes, they were gorgeous. Came back Sunday evening for the quiz, which was good fun. Lovely village pub. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
