The food was surprisingly disappointing. I recommend steering clear of this place for dining. There was no table service; ordering was done through an app, and half of our order was missing. What we did receive was cold and of low quality. The table manager tried her best to resolve the issues, but overall, it was a very unpleasant experience. On the positive side, the venue has a nice atmosphere, and the band was enjoyable and entertaining. However, I would advise against eating here.
After a stroll along the city walls, my legs were feeling a bit weary, so I was grateful for the comfortable seating available here. There’s a lot of space, with two levels and a beer garden. The ground floor even has a pool table, and there are screens all around showing sports, making it a great spot for sports enthusiasts. I haven't tried the food yet, but the wings definitely caught my attention. At £15 for 30 wings with a variety of sauces, I'm eager to return just for those!
Only after 2 years of Kovid have been to york and went to what was formerly called The Graduate Pub now..All were wonderfully completely new made about... very clean modern and beautiful staff, which were very pleasant and friendly many different drinks and cocktails it also has a narrow closed beer garden very clean and beautiful. We ate there and found the food good quality and very tasty would highly recommend
We visited during our last trip to York and were so impressed that we returned twice. The pub has a pleasant and clean atmosphere, and the service was friendly. We appreciated the option to order through an app at our table. The food was of high quality and very flavorful, with a wide variety of choices on the menu. Was looking for somewhere for a quick bite before getting the train home. After spending a few days in York eating what I would call “posh food” (crushed avocado and/salmon on everything etc) just wanted something “simple”. Ordered the fish chips and my partner got Mac n cheese. Fish was good, chips average. Portion size was enough to feel full. Clean, well presented and staff were friendly.
I made a reservation, but you didn't have any record of it, despite receiving an email confirmation. Many of the items we requested were unavailable. Our food took more than an hour to arrive, even though other tables who ordered after us were served first. When I asked for cutlery, I was met with a rude response and then had to wait even longer.
This is a lovely, spacious pub that is well-managed, featuring a sunken back garden that offers protection from the wind. There’s a good variety of beers available, including some cask ales. They also have screens for sports events. The restrooms are clean and well-maintained. Overall, this pub is impressive and comes highly recommended.
Great chicken and avocado salads. Some nice outside seating. Staff really attentive and great service despite it being a busy afternoon during the heatwave.
