great first visit in this pub. nb: 20% discount on mon wed until september 2020. Tuesday evening was quiet and we sat quite fast on a clean table. the menus are varied and very good value and based on our experience were all portions for appetizers, main and desserts larger than all we had elsewhere. the service was very good, not disturbing, exactly right with friendly and happy staff who served us all night. our group had appetizers of garnelen cocktail, fried chicken strips and mac and cheese balls with salsa. Stopped for lunch, made to feel very welcome even with our 3 large dogs who were given a free sausage each and some dog biscuits! Food was excellent and reasonably priced, we went for small plates menu, the only disappointment being these were not included in the BlueLightCard card scheme because they are classed as starters even though we had 4 between 2 of us. We would definitely make this our local if only we lived closer! Price per person: £10–20

We really enjoyed our Sunday lunch. The staff was pleasant and friendly, creating a lovely atmosphere. Here's how I would rate our experience: Food: 5, Service: 5, Atmosphere: 5. I highly recommend trying the Roasted Meat of the Day. As for parking, there was plenty of space available in the free parking lot.

Great atmosphere, but food was not what I expected . Slow cooked chicken balti ??? Chicken was cooked on a grill. You could see the lines from the grill plate, so the chicken had a skin on it, which I wouldn't expect from a balti. This is an excellent carvery that offers plenty of options and generous portions. The wait for each individual table to get served is effective and well-managed. Overall, I'd rate the food, service, and atmosphere all at 4 out of 5.
