The Original Goodfella's Brick Oven Pizza

I heard of this place through YouTube and decided to use some of my very limited time in NYC to check it out. Apparently, the owner holds several world championship gold medals for his pies. I have no idea how these championships work, because I've eaten at other baker's that also claim to hold such a record but with a completely different style of the same dish. At the same time, my best pizza experiences are at places that have not participated in any from of competition. Confusing. Anyway, eating at Goodfellas was kind of a let down. To our surprise, the pizza arrived quickly, and it was piping hot and absolutely amazing. We ordered a large pie topped with fresh mozzarella and sausage. The red sauce was light and perfectly balanced—not too sweet at all—and the crust was wonderfully crispy. I can confidently say that the pizza at Goodfella's in Staten Island definitely lives up to the hype surrounding New York pizza. We can't wait to return on our next trip north!

We are learning a lot about how to make the best pizza ever! Owners are great at teaching and showing techniques needed to really pull off amazing pizza. Their menu is fresh and delicious. I have eaten pizza every day so far and still could eat more.

This was our first time at this location! Our Seever was George and he was FANTASTIC- personable and just made the experience even better! The food was absolutely delicious and freshly made! We will be back again and again! Réservez une table maintenant

The food here was fantastic, especially the pizza! The service was exceptional, with managers Scott and our waiter Angelina being incredibly friendly and welcoming. I would definitely come back!

I loved the pizza and the bread here. The pizza crust was the best I've ever had and I had many. The service was just as good as the food. It a must try!!! Chicken Franchese was perfect.

I really enjoyed the pizza! The cucumber cooler was just right for either a warm or cool day and paired perfectly with our pizza. The crust was spot on—crisp and delicious.
