This is my favorite place to eat whenever I visit Tahoe. The seafood is incredibly fresh and delicious. Almost everything on the menu is a winner. The oysters are so fresh that all I need is a bit of hot sauce and lemon juice to enhance their flavor. The clam chowder is thick and chunky, filled with generous pieces of meat and potato. My top three dishes are the Crab Legs Seafood Boil, Jambalaya, and Gumbo. Everything tastes truly authentic, and the chefs prepare everything to perfection. The last time I ordered the jambalaya, I asked the chef to make it extra spicy, and he certainly delivered! It was really spicy, but I could still appreciate the flavors of the dish. The sausage was perfect...

On a positive note, the rolls were quite good, but they came in large Costco-sized bags and were served straight out of the bag without being warmed up. I paid the bill and left a tip, but I won’t be returning. The worst part was that the restaurant shares a door with an expensive establishment next door, and it felt especially disheartening to see the Nugget completely empty on a Wednesday night. Thankfully, our friends had other plans, or I would have felt worse about it. I had been really looking forward to trying this place out. I had no issues with the staff—probably because I didn’t send anything back and chalked it up to a less-than-great experience.

The wait can be quite long due to limited seating, but it's definitely worth it. The fresh oysters were just average and could have been cleaner. However, the French seafood stew was outstanding and packed with flavor. I also enjoyed the steamed dish and the prawns. I appreciated that all the food is cooked to order, which made for a lovely dining experience.

It's surprising to find seafood in the mountains! The place is typically bustling, so if you spot an available seat, make sure to stop and dine if you can. This time I had the gumbo, which was delicious. The okra was exceptionally fresh, and there was plenty of shrimp and andouille sausage. It was quite hearty. The service was fast and friendly, too.
