The Pheasant Bar, Restaurant

We had a large family meal before a wedding, with a group of 17 people. Finding a restaurant that can accommodate such a big party can be quite challenging, but the team at The Pheasant reserved a lovely area for us. Everyone enjoyed their starters and main courses, and they were even able to accommodate special dietary requests. The food was outstanding, and considering the size of our group, we only had to wait a few minutes for everyone to be served, which was impressive. Kudos to the chef! The service was also excellent, making for a very enjoyable dining experience. Overall, a job well done to the entire team. As mentioned, the food was truly exceptional.

We had a large family dinner before a wedding with a party of 17, which can be tough to accommodate at restaurants. However, the team at the Pheasant managed to set aside a lovely area for all of us. Everyone enjoyed their starters and main courses, including options for special dietary needs. The food was excellent, and considering our group size, we weren't kept waiting more than a few minutes to be served. That was truly impressive. My compliments to the chef! The service was also very good, making for an overall great dining experience. Well done, team!

To top it off, the host offered us complimentary breakfast for our entire stay due to the mix-up, which I thought was outstanding service! The breakfast itself was wonderful—everything was freshly cooked, and the ingredients, including the sausage and bacon, were clearly sourced from a local butcher. I highly recommend staying here, and we will definitely be returning on our next trip down south.

Even after the EU thrown away the UK using a high power Chinese electric heater inside the shower is not only illegal but is very dangerous. The most insalubrious place I've ever seen. Not to mention the 15th century sink. Rooms: 1 Service: 3 Location: 5

Rooms dated, bathroom dire and needs replacing. No toiletry replacement for 2nd night, one teabag/coffee/sugar each, not enough. Food was excellent, both dinner and breakfast. Staff pleasant. Rooms: 3 Service: 5 Location: 4 Hotel highlights: Quiet

Kitchen staff are excellent, polite, quick and efficient. Housekeepers I cannot fault at all. Operations manager is naive, rude, arrogant and wallows in self petty. Doesn't like criticism to be handed back on his own faults, attempts to be cocky.

Sadly the pub has now closed down. It was lovely while open, a big loss to the local community.
