I took a business guest there, based on past experience and I raved to him ahead of time about how good it was. He got the combo plate with pulled pork and the brisket and I ordered the brisket with coleslaw and french fries. I asked for the fries to be extra crispy and was very specific about that.  I had intended to order the brisket with no barbecue sauce and realized my error when the waiter delivered our food and there was sauce on the brisket. Thank heavens there was, because the brisket was dry as a bone. It looked like it had been sitting under a heat lamp for a couple of hours. I went here to try the vegan bbq tofu plate that comes with 2 sides, but *none* of the sides are vegan. You cannot upgrade to a side salad without a $3.50 upcharge. So I ordered the bbq tofu ranch salad without cheese or ranch and a balsamic vinaigrette (this supposedly came with bbq tofu, black beans, red peppers, corn, lettuce, and avocado). When I received it, it had ranch, so I asked to have it remade. I was told that the veggies and beans were already in the ranch, and was presented with dry (no bbq) tofu atop lettuce as my “salad”. They did bring me out large cut carrots and green peppers eventually to add to it. But come on. This place is not vegan friendly.
This restaurant should not be listed on this app. While my husband and children enjoyed their food, I was disappointed by the lack of vegan options. The server informed me that even the French fries and sweet potato fries were cooked in the same fryers as meat, so they were not vegetarian. I tried to make substitutions for my tofu nuggets but was met with limited options that all contained animal products. There was no willingness to accommodate my request. Despite the food not being vegan-friendly, the restaurant seemed nice overall and would likely be enjoyable for meat eaters.
I have had disappointing dining experiences at this restaurant in the past. The food was greasy and the server was not knowledgeable about the vegan options on the menu. However, when they provided catering for a work event, the food was excellent, giving me hope that they have the potential to improve. It seems like they may not be very focused on accommodating vegan customers.

The heat from the spices were great Im never disappointed with the turkey bbq I even got some bbq sauce which added a extra kick to the bbq. The potato salad is always ok a little bland but not really bad the Mac and cheese I always a hit or miss it was better than the last time I had it
Delicious lunch at the Pit. I highly recommend this restaurant with excellent food, terrific service and great ambiance.
The soy nuggets and fries are delicious. I'm happy that they offer an option for my family when we want to dine there.
The food was amazing! The carrot cake was a big piece of delicious! I will be ordering again! Packed with care!
