We had a pizza gift and we were all too busy to take the time to go to 1905 pizza in Apopka, where you can get a real New York pizza. After a fast Google search we decided to try The Pizza Shop. Honestly, I don't like to give someone a bad review, but whoever thinks this is New York-style pizza was never in NYC. Take it from a Brooklyn girl? NYC Pizza Kruste gets its taste of good Italian olive oil and the right balance of salt. It is not a perfect circle because it is hand-stretched, and very thin, an important part of the technique in terms of texture. Tried this place a long time ago when the old man owned it and it wasn't anything to write home about. Tried it last night, and spoke with the owner Sean while he was making my loaded pizza (meat lovers). Pizza was delicious and loaded with premium toppings. The owner Sean was friendly and very nice. He helped me out, as I was leaving I left my headlights on in my car and he gave me a jump with his truck! Def recommend, pizza was on point, and everytime Im in Mt. Dora I will be ordering a meat lovers pie! Thx Sean you da man!?was?
We had pizza and Stromboli several times from here and it was pretty good. I tried the Aubergine Parmesan with spaghetti and it wasn't very good. The eggplant had simple bread crumbs without a wort at all. Only half melted cheese and no sauce there was some sauce on spaghetti, but not much. I added the sauce of my men Stromboli and some garlic powder and Italian spices and I could eat it. I wouldn't order that again.
Have twice ordered 2 pizzas for gatherings, the 2nd time because the reaction was so positive that those 1st time friends requested more! Place is clean (and I have no problem walking out when a restaurant isn't. Crust is just right, generous toppings, excellent counter service. Pies were hot and ready on time. There's a loyalty program for frequent fliers. Going to try subs next time.

The first time here, I have heard rave reviews from many. We ordered 12 and an 18 . The 12 pie was fine. Unfortunately, the 18 pie wasn't even cut. Upon cutting the pie, the underside was black. We will NOT try again and will discourage others.It's not a great first impression. Back to finding another pizza pie place.I guess you have to check everything.

The best NY pizza connection. Pizza, calzones and hot Italian subs are delicious. Do not expect waiting staff, that is strictly a pizza joint, not a sitting restaurant. But they have a few tables where you can sit and eat.
Great NYC pies right here in Mount Dora! A friendly owner and staff makes the pickup experience even better! Don’t hesitate trying this small shop with big taste!

Great place to grab a slice for lunch! Owners are very friendly. 2 slices and a drink for $7.25. Homemade dough that has great flavor!
Friendly customer service and great food. IMHO best pizza in the area. Would recommend
