very picturesque location for a village pub just a little disappointed by the food and service. a village pub still with a one way system and covid restrictions, we were unable to join two tables together for our party of 7 as it would restrict...access to the toilet even though we could have probably been sat elsewhere that wouldn't have caused an obstruction. We pre ordered food via Email and the landlord was very helpful and friendly with all of this. Upon arrival we ordered a bottle of wine with four glasses, all four glasses were very misty and dirty one particularly was filthy which I returned to the bar for a clean one, it was clearly cleaned out with a wet smelly dishcloth as the gla...

What a find we visited the Poacher at Elsworth, near Cambridge for an evening meal, the decor was light and airy with lovely fresh modern decor with a good selection of ales. There was a good variety on offer on the menu with some vegetarian...options and the owners made you feel really welcome. I decided to order the homemade Steak and Mushroom Pie and was immediately blown away by the taste. it was definitely the nicest premium quality steak pie I had ever tasted, it was mouthwatering and the just fell to bits in your mouth. the best part was the special gravy that accompanied it, which I discovered was made to a special recipie by the owners. I would not hesitate in returning to try more...

Came here with my friend and was greated by the owner David who held the door open and showed us to our seat. The pub has been around for a long time and is a grade II listed building so has plenty of character and...some good historical stories. The food was amazing, and is all home made so you know that it has natural ingredients. I had mushroom soup for starters and a blue cheese and bacon burger for my main. Both were outstanding, but the star of the show was my desert. A flavoursome chocolate torte this was so light and tasty. Will definitely be coming back to this place. 6*

I met up with friends at this restaurant on a Thursday night. It's definitely worth making a reservation in advance as the place was packed (which is always a good sign). David warmly greeted us and was very friendly and eager to joke around. The food was fantastic - I opted for the chicken, mushroom, and spinach dish. For dessert, I tried the treacle tart, but all the dessert options sounded delicious. The portions of the desserts were just right and incredibly tasty. I highly recommend a visit to this restaurant and I will definitely be returning! Réservez une table maintenant

Tried to have a drink in the garden. A one way system still exists in this small village pub, insisting that you cannot enter the garden except via the pub. The garden actually has access from the car park and roadside but not allowed. You...cannot enter the pub without masks, signing in and being watched sanitising. We had forgotten our lanyards, but given the nature of the landlord we decided to go elsewhere and not explain. Why not open the garden and serve people there ? No need to go inside. We had the impression clients are not welcome.

My partner and I went out to eat over the weekend as we typically do. After having some disappointing meals recently due to personal problems and a lack of quality ingredients, we went in with low expectations. However, we were pleasantly surprised by the friendly service we received, which truly made a difference. The food was enjoyable, although we ended up going for safe choices with the burgers, which were delicious nonetheless. We are eager to return and explore more of the menu. Highly recommended.

Excellent service from Colleen and David as usual friendly and helpful. I ordered Landlords homemade pie of the week , which was tasty and very filling. I also would like to add that being a person who is clinically vulnerable I was very impressed with...the covid-19 protocols and very safe during my visit.

We made a reservation for dinner on a Saturday and were lucky to secure a table just 2 days in advance. Our host, David, was delightful and friendly. The food was top-notch, surpassing many gastro pubs in terms of quality and value. We suggest booking early for a fantastic and enjoyable dining experience. Réservez une table maintenant

Excellent food, lovely people and, being that one of our family members is disabled we very much appreciate the COVID rules the pub is adhering to, keeping their customers as safe as possible. Thank you!
