I never understood how this place stayed open when it was the Croydon Store, given the terrible food and awful service, and I’m equally puzzled as to how it still attracts and keeps customers. There seems to be something about the kitchen environment that leaves the staff unable to smile or work efficiently. They wander around aimlessly, delivering orders to the wrong tables and taking far too long to do basic tasks like taking orders, preparing food and coffee, and serving—which are fundamental to running a café. While I can overlook the forced décor and unfriendly staff, I cannot tolerate waiting 20 minutes for a coffee in an empty café. This place really drags down what is otherwise a gre...
