The Porterhouse Grill Rooms

Popped in for lunch with colleagues today. I chose the lunchtime special rump steak which, TBH , was the toughest bit of steak I have had in a very long time. (Note to self ... Remember that 's why you always choose fillet or ribeye. When the time came to pay it turned out that for some bonkers reason they do not accept cash. There was no mention of this in the menu or when we ordered, although a sign down the other end of the otherwise empty room was pointed out to me. If I hadn 't been with colleagues I 'd have made a much bigger fuss. I like to have the choice of how to pay. We stayed on a Thursday night for a break from the daily grind. Despite being in the middle of all the Covid restrictions, we were warmly welcomed and had a fantastic stay from start to finish. The whole place is very tastefully decorated. The bedroom was v comfortable with some great finishing touches. The food was nothing short of excellent and the drinks selection was impressive. The service was attentive without being over bearing. Special shout out to Kyle who was very helpful and an all round good guy. Hope to come back soon.

I have been here multiple times on dates with my partner. It is expensive, but absolutely worth the money. The starters are delicious, and the steaks always cooked perfectly. I definitely make this a regular stop for special occasions.

Nice place, good music, superbe meat and wine, staff OK! I had launch there with my son and his girl friend, we said only a word: awesome! Let's rock eat and drink Italian wine!

The lunch we had was wonderful, with good service in a beautifully restored pub.
