The Ragged Trousers

We visited this restaurant on Christmas Eve for lunch. Since we are not familiar with the area, it was a bit of a gamble. There were five of us, including our small dog. The food was outstanding and the service was excellent. Two of us tried the croque madame, which was delicious. We also enjoyed the surf'n'turf with minute steak, cooked perfectly. I ordered the nachos with chili on top, as suggested by our server, and it was the best chili I have ever had. The people next to us ordered the cassoulet, which looked amazing and is definitely what I would try next time. We will definitely come back when we are in the area again and have already recommended it to our friends.

Grabbed a table for lunch outside whilst weather was still good. My husband ordered a burger and I had the chilli, which came with chips and sour cream. Have to say one of the best, actually probably the best chilli I’ve had. It was very tasty, meat so tender, just the right amount of heat, and lovely and cheesy on top. My husband thoroughly enjoyed his burger too. Service was good. Only minor point was lack of hand wash in toilets (empty) and no sanitiser outside toilet area. But apart from that would definitely eat there again when visiting Tunbridge Wells.

On a day visit to Tunbridge Wells we ended up at the Ragged Trousers. I had to ask about gluten free options for my wife. The waitress came out and she was most helpful. Many gf choices, my wife choosing moules marinière. I had the home made burger (and my wife's French bread). Both choices were delicious and we sat outside in the sunshine, sipping an excellent sauvignon blanc. The waitress was superb with everyone, the perfect mix of professionalism, friendliness and knowledge which made our day. Thank you!

Beer very good but they have a deal with Roddy burger and the staff lacked ownership and responsibility of the Roddy burger experience.....we ordered a Roddy burger and sides and when a delivery came in the barmaid said, no idea, not someone from here without even asking the clientele in the bar....whe we said we had ordered her response was its not my problem ....well, actually, it is....your pub offers this as a service so you should take ownership and responsibility Réservez une table maintenant

Properly hot chilli in both senses of the word. Great chips, crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside. Large selection of local beers. Friendly, helpful and attentive staff. Will make a point of coming again.

A very nice stop off for lunch. Charming service and excellent food. 3 different meals ordered and all declared as lovely. Friendly environment, although the whiff from the drains could be got rid of!

The restaurant provided a warm and welcoming ambiance, excellent service, lively dishes, and a pleasant atmosphere. It's a fantastic dining spot with a variety of 22 beers on tap to choose from.

I absolutely adore this pub, but yesterday's visit was phenomenal. I brought along my daughter and husband, and they were both especially impressed with the beef and Guinness stew. Réservez une table maintenant

Decent selection of beers and cider. Great area out the front to chill and watch the world go by. Nice and friendly staff.
