I don't even know where to begin with this review - the staff at this restaurant are truly exceptional. The atmosphere is fantastic with a beautiful pub both inside and outside. There is a large covered area with TVs, heaters, and a serving window for those who prefer to dine outside in any weather. In the summer, there is a stunning beer garden. The food is outstanding, especially the Sunday dinners which are the best I've ever had. My wife and I make it a point to come here for Sunday dinner whenever we can. A great pub just off the A1, the Sunday roast was lovely with more veg than you can eat, a very nice amount of meat with each meal and all very good quality cooked well. All of the staff were very friendly and accommodating. Definitely recommend and if you are on the A1 its only a couple of minutes drive off with much better food than you are going to get in a services. Price per person: £10–20

We had a meal on Saturday night (7th Oct 23) we all had something of the chefs specials board and the food was absolutely incredible!! The staff we're extremely polite and lovely, the landlord went above and beyond for us. Highly recommended this pub, you won't be disappointed!! Went for midweek evening meal for 2. Brought our dog with us which meant we had to eat in the beer garden. Food was good, reasonable sized portion. Service was quick. Difficult to comment on atmosphere as we weren't really in it! Fresh and delicious food, expertly prepared, and pet-friendly. Our group of friends gathered in Sherwood to take our dogs for a walk and enjoy a fantastic lunch at the Royal Oak.

Unfortunately, we were unable to bring our dogs inside for a drink, but the restaurant does have a covered outdoor area with heaters where dogs are allowed.
