I made reservations for 2pm I arrived no one was there to sit us. Headed to the bar to find someone a waiter told us they had no more available tables. I told them I actually have a reservation thy said it would take alittle to get a table ready. We ended up just sitting at the bar. Sax player was playing in an area away from the bar but I only booked reservations to see the sax not eat the food. We arrived at 2 sax player for about 10mins before taking a break. We were there for about an HR and a half. Only heard 10 mins of sax and was uncle to see the artist due to seating at bar rather than sitting us at our reserved table which should of been Infront of the music which had about 7 tables and none were filled with people. Never will book here again the west Hartford location is very welcoming and service is very much up to par. The Downton Location looked like everyone had a wild night and just didn't want to do there job. A male was called into work and when he came in he started to complain to someone in front of us saying he better get double pay or extra pay as he had to come in the day prior on his day off. Very unprofessional I would say and should be spoken about away from guest

great location and ambiente, but the personal was unprofessional. several try to order a little gluten-free while 3 or more server had to talk to me and the cook and did not know what was gluten or what the options were on the menu. denied it to the pfeffersteak and then was told by a girl who brings out eating that it is 86 'd in a very schnarchic wise. what that means is beyond my understanding. accepted, that means that it has run out is difficult to understand because it is a lot of patrons there. only option was rice and drowned and plantains and both were dry and had no taste. they saw that they were kept warm all day/night to serve when they were ordered. the same girl that brings out eating, brought us our food and rolled her eyes when she put it on the table. the girl at the front when she arrived was pleasant and the waiter who initially came to our table was training and pleasant. they would assume that the more tense staff would know the menu and "not frustrated if a customer asks for gluten because of allergy. will never go back and not recommend!

my wife and I are going out every weekend for a “Date Night”. not our first time at the russell. the wings, the ochs tail and the fried chicken were delicious. the drinks were sweet and had the right amount of alcohol. the service was a bit slow, but I have read in other reviews that was a problem. the waitress was nice. she just seemed to work.
